I'm not trying to be a jerk with this question. Aren't coyotes, foxes, and other predators hunting them all night, every night? If so, how would some scattered humans and hunting dogs pose a greater risk to their reserves?

Agreed, but it doesn't hurt to mount it periodically while hunting. And if you have a pointer on a bird, a quick test mount can also be beneficial.

The only other thing I can add is to bring plenty of water and rest periodically. We did have some streams and puddles that were fine, but there were also some scummy ponds I made sure to keep her away from.
