Well, I Googled it and they think it is BS. What does Googgle know?

Is that true? I hear that all the time....have yet to hear from someone that witnessed it or seen a video of it. Often the source will say eggs and chicks. Guess I have never search for a vid...might now.

That is how they get the kernels from standing corn...the biggest reason I started planting grain sorghum, was that it is so much easier for them to get to it (a lot less energy needed to try to get it).

Checked the feeding sites just now, to see if the birds had found them....well, I think they did. I put out the remainder of the first barrel.

Don't have a good mower, an old 5 footer, not sure it would last for almost 6 acres. Just a old light-weight disk...will try to add a few hundred pounds to it this year and see if it helps to cut and bury the trash.

A cover crop wouldn't be too practical if you are leaving the primary crop in the field for the winter....but you are thinking like a farmer! Been debating about going back to corn, as what our PF chapter gets is Round-Up ready. The grain sorghum is just so much easier for the birds to get to...

Have only seen one bobcat in my life, have some coyotes, don't see much for feral cats here. Raptors would be my guess to be the biggest predator to the pheasants here....well, behind me.
