Your dogs clearly understand how to hunt wild, cagey birds. The point, creep, and re-point as the pheasant tries to escape is important IMO. My two Vizlas do this well. I watched a Tik-Tok of a GSP creeping and the commenters blasted the video saying they need to stay put until released...

I know my own beliefs on "road hunting" and "entrapment". The one thing I will add to the discussion is that anyone that falls for the ACME rental Pheasant Decoy deserves a citation. Unless they figure out how to make a drone look like a rooster and cackle like a rooster.

I bought a 12 gauge in November. A bit of an adjustment with the safety but absolutely have fallen in love with my the feel and look of the A400 xplor. I wish I could buy it for my wife so she didn't have to use the pump action. Definitely a deal for someone!

This hunt was from November 18. Brrrrrr! Enjoy it. I tried throwing a few videos out this week. I get to enjoy a warm, Caribbean Cruise with my wife which means unplugging form the technology world for most of that duration. Spring is just around the corner!

I use a Go Pro Hero 9. I edit in iMovie which is a Mac application. As for the gushing on those golden's, I have video evidence coming out shortly on one of Joel's amazing dogs "gettin' greedy". I think I will have it posted before my week vacation starts tomorrow.

Very true. Ellie does very well for a pointer but that natural instinct of a Golden is tough to beat. Be on the look out for an upcoming video with some other retrieves! ;)

I have not shot a runner on the ground. I did pull up but my better senses kicked in and said to myself "that is why you have dogs Mike". It simply is too risky to put a finishing shot on a bird running to safety. It is especially risky running two dogs.
