In my old truck I drilled a hole in the bottom of the kennel in each corner. I then drilled a corresponding hole in the bed. I bolted it down and never had an issue. I used large washers in the kennel to provide a secure point. With a nice kennel pad the dog never knew the bolt heads were there.
