    Bucket list trips!

For those talking Alaska, go do it, you'll love every minute of it. I think we caught 10 different species of fish on our charter trip. Then did some flossing for salmon up the Russian River. I'd do it every year, but the wife thinks laying on a boring beach getting sand in everything is just...

    Hearing protection

I have zero affiliation or experience, just found it informative and interesting---- The woman that founded this company was on a MeatEater podcast a while back. I found their discussion with her very informative. She doesn't sell one product, a one size fits all solution, but rather reps...

Looking into a 16 side by side

Lots of discussion on this on the 16 gauge forum several months back. Some were adamant like you that they’re on a 12 gauge frame. Some were adamant that when they dug in with IFG then FAIR in Italy that they were on a smaller frame. One guy had both a 12 and 16 and said visually the 16...

    Huberds Shoe Grease

My millwright/welding buddies all use TuffToe on their boots to save the toes when kneeling on concrete. Dad put it on a pair of moc toe Danner’s 3 years ago and they still look new after miles of walking through CRP.

    Huberds Shoe Grease

No. And in typical forum fashion, I use Obenaufs on all my leather.

I’ll buy every $2k 1620 you send my way. I’ll even take the ones that are missing half their triggers.

Looking into a 16 side by side

A couple of the less gussied up FAIR Isides are under or right at $2k and get good reviews. My dad has used a Dickinson (turkish) 16 for the last 10 years or so and likes it a lot, his primary gun. Seen several used Uggies in that range and they always get good reviews. They don't show up in...

Looking into a 16 side by side

The first question has to be what is your budget? Is it $800? or $8,000? or $80,000? If you max spend is going to be $1,000 no matter what, throwing out offerings that start at $4k or $5k isn't going to do you any good.

    Stock Duplicator???

I saved this link in my bookmarks from a different forum I'm on that several guys had done work with and were happy with the results. I've never gone down this road, but someday when the wife isn't looking.... http://gunstockduplicating.com/index.html

    Let’s see em.

New red lab coming in. Some say that red was the original yellow, but they were bred for the yellow to dominate and that the new reds are actually reverting back to the old ways. Some say they've got a little Vizsla mixed in. Cute little fellas no matter the breeding.... ;)

    Clays

I moved 5 years ago and there is a skeet/trap range 2 miles down the road. I have yet to shoot there. Every year I tell myself I need to. Do shoot skeet/trap/sporting clays a few times a year elsewhere though, plus some backyard clays once in a while. I only shoot low gun, no matter what...

What is the best pair of boots you ever owned for hunting pheasants?

Not in their hunting boots, but I live in their moc toe soft sole work boots for the last 6 years and have converted several millwrights that work for me to them as well. I wear them almost daily and are my standard “going to town” boot as well. I often wear them as a “dry condition” hunting...

What Pod Cast do you guys listen to?

When I was flying weekly for work I'd download MeatEater. Still listen to it once in a while. Then got started on Clay Newcomb's "Bear Grease Podcast". It is kind of an outdoors themed, history, Americana, hunting, 'of things forgotton' documentary style every other week plus the offweeks...

There seems to be a change in the air?

Not so much arguing here, as typing out what is bouncing around in my brain... I'm curious though, is that really the case, they're only selling those handguns, MSR and PDW guns because that is what people are wanting? If all Wal-Mart and Academy and the likes offer are entry level, bead...

    Vehicles

I hunt out of a truck, and likely will always hunt out of a truck. Currently driving a 2020 Tundra and 2006 F-250. Wouldn't hesitate to jump in either this afternoon for a cross country bird trek. The Ford got the nod last fall to get a bit more bed room. I've been to South Dakota twice now...
