    Vintage/older Over Unders

I kick myself for not buying a Beretta S57E in 20 guage at the SLC Cabelas a couple years ago. Metal was good. Wood needed a refinish. Was flying home for weekend. $500. Decided over weekend I’d buy it on my return trip Monday. It was gone.

Ive got a bunch of lead #2’s….

Friend of a friend kind of thing, and the guy swore by 2s on pheasants. Not enough pellets to tear them up bad, and a hit resulted in good penetration. To each his own...

    Webley and Scott 712 sxs

Read yesterday that Uggie is back in business. Not sure if it is same/same, or in name only though. Have to do some more research.

    Women's Upland Pants

My buddies college aged daughter wears SHE pants. No clue the specs on them, just saw the logo when we were hunting last week. Myself, my favorite pant plus a pair of chaps.

FAIR ISIDE is in that budget and good reviews. I’m tempted for a 20 myself.

Where to buy ammo in Eastern Kansas

All the Walmarts I’ve been to in the SWMO area had a decent enough selection of ammo to cover a guy from quail to pheasants to ducks to geese. Academy too.

Anyone Use the KDWP Garmin WIHA GPS Maps?

Pretty sure there is a way to export them, or if nothing else, you can write down the longitude/latitude coordinates and enter them into whatever program you're going to use long term.

    Side by Sides

Sometimes. 16 guage, 1919 proofed German gun, weights 5#15oz. Also a 12 guage Simson that I need to open the chokes up on a bit.

Pay to Play rates in SD

Place I’ve luckily been invited to hunt the last 2 years is $100/day. Leaving Thursday to go again for 3 days. Are these tame birds? Why do they release so many hens? All the hens sure get my adrenaline pumping and I love the dogs pointing them, but why not just buy roosters to release...

    Walk in Areas

My view, it has nothing to do with landowners skirting the line. If I owned a section of bean ground, ditch to ditch, not a waterway on it, and the state comes up and offers me $5/acre to enroll it, why wouldn't I? It'll never get touched by a hunter and I just made $3,000. That is a...

    Sharpies

On my bucket list someday. I've only ever seen them one time in my life. On a mule deer hunt between Laramie and Casper, up on a hill, had a flock of 20 fly right over the top of us within gun range. Had to do a double and triple take to realize what I was seeing. They set wings and glided...

    Walk in Areas

How much can be used for hunting something besides pheasants? Deer? Coyotes? Feed fields for waterfowl? How much was part of the lease with the farmer just to round out a property, i.e. there was a portion of the ground with good habitat, instead of making a funny shaped map that is a pain to...

    Help with Dilemma?

NDPheasant has great advice for all the unmarried guys out there. I’ll also add, when she says “I don’t F-ing care where you go on our anniversary next year”, turns out, that’s a lie, and she really does care. Who would have known? Corndawg, in my inexcusable defense, at the time I only...

    Help with Dilemma?

Take a look at when the 7th was the last 2 years, Saturday and Sunday. But man we shot a lot of birds. “Of course you’re gone hunting in only weekend anniversary dates we have for the next X years…” Hunting with the same buddy now as I hunted with the weekend before my wedding. I was supposed...

    Help with Dilemma?

I've got a bit of a problem, not sure how to handle it. My 12th wedding anniversary is coming up, November 7th to be exact. But, have an invite for private wild bird hunt (10,000 contiguous acres) full of gorgeous habitat, have done extremely well there the last 2 years when I was also...

A gift for your hunting buddies

Large prints of pics is a great idea. I hunted last year with some of our “core” group, but had some new guys added. I take a lot of pics. Try to get lots of candids, something more than “end of day pile of birds” pic. Had tons printed from 4x6s to large prints. Had them sent to our group...
