    Kuiu vest

I can’t help with your question, but might help others looking at Final Rise. Black Ovis has several versions of Final Rise in stock. It took a month for me to get mine in December direct. Nephew got his in 2 days from Black Ovis.

    Corner crossings

Been a while since I listened to the Meateater podcasts on this with the lawyers legal explanation, so this might not be perfect, but close- My understanding was that it wasn’t actually illegal, there were no laws in the books saying “thou shall not corner cross”. Which is why the Missouri...

Do any of you use a watch to connect to the Garmin Alpha 300

I have an Instinct watch paired to my Pro 550 Plus. I’d like it a lot more if I wasn’t near sighted. I have to look over or under my glasses to see it. Guess that means it is time for bifocals…. Also I connect my handhold to the Garmin app on my phone. Likely not needed with the Alpha screen.

    Might be a bismuth shortage.

I used Winchester 1 3/8 ounce at 1450 on ducks this year and was impressed. More kills. Less wounded than my normal steel. Rogers, $1.48/shell. Case of 250 for $370. Was $400 a month ago when I bought another case...

    Love Kid Rock's Hat!!!

I can't remember the exact details, but the gist of it was a guy called in to the 'You Betcha' guys, as he was road hunting ditch chickens. I think (might be a stretch here) he even shot one while he was talking to them...

    Pheasants Forever Banquet Ideas

Agreed. So many fundraisers for various kids groups, kids trips, kids sports teams around here have raffles for whatever the cheapest entry level rifle or shotgun they can get their hands on. I'll pay my $20 and almost hope I don't win. I'd much rather pay $100 to the same group for a chance...

    2024 gear review...what worked and what didn't?

Which Danners? They've got everything from cheapo chinese imports to premium made in USA quality boots. 20 years ago I loved my Danner Pronghorn imports, most comfortable boot ever. But the durability wasn't there for me, the toe wore out. In hindsight, I should have put Tuff-Toe on them...

    2024 gear review...what worked and what didn't?

Scheels Endeavor 2.0 $120 pants were a win Using Garmin Pro 550 Plus with TT25 collars made me question why I waited so long to buy GPS collars. (Yeah, it was the price os why I waited, but I am glad I did now)

Things I learned and Questions I have

Blockers aren’t necessarily in their position to shoot birds. They’re in position to keep all the birds from squirting out the end ahead of….me. It’s not the 100 birds that flush wild that we are trying to kill. It’s the 3 or 4 stragglers that hold tight that we are trying to get.

    Preferred Hunt Start Time

Historically we were hunting public ground in Kansas, 6 hour drive from home, so to make the most of it, started hunting as soon as it was legal and light enough to see color. Get there after sunup and somebody would already be in the field you planned on. Now we hunt 13 hours from home in...

    Your "Go-To" gun and why?

New O/U 20 GA for Pheasant and Ruffed Grouse

Balance point is about an inch in front of hinge pin. It weighs less than 5 1/2 lbs, so any weight forward is needed to keep from being whippy. It sure is nice to carry all day.

    Your "Go-To" gun and why?

Hey-all you “one gun” guys and “I don’t need anymore guns” guys, I’ve reported you to the moderator. We don’t need that negativity in here. Some of our wives might also happen into this thread and then we have to explain why we need more guns. Knock it off.

    Your "Go-To" gun and why?

I've got prettier guns and more expensive guns and cheaper guns and lighter guns, but if I am serious about killing pheasants, it is my Beretta 391 12 guage. Bought in 2003 when they were changing to the 'Optima' version and the older Mobile choked versions could be had for $600. I was freshly...

    where’s Bob

Maybe instead of admonishing him, you should do something else? “When the crowds learned it, they followed him, and he welcomed them and spoke to them of the kingdom of God and cured those who had need of healing.” Luke 9:11

    where’s Bob

I used the word censorship. I don't see where I used it incorrectly either. If this site or any other site wants to censor what I say, have at it, it is their site and their choice. Whether I return and bring page views and advertising dollars with me, that is my choice. What I often...

    where’s Bob

I was a monetary supporting member in another bird hunting forum. Donated every year. Finally had enough of the censorship when my honest, not bashing, but could be viewed with some negativity, review if a sponsors product was deleted without explanation. It wasn’t an “oh this product is...
