    Saw some planted millet food strips on a bird ranch in Maine. It was tall enough for phez. When planted as a crop I would guess it's on 7.5" centers like cane is, so good cover at least until cut.

    In 1994 a western Kansas ag operator gave me permission to hunt and then later in the season suggested I post his land. He did this after my report of a local putting four out-of-state vehicles of hunters on his land, no permission requested nor given. Grateful for such a valuable permission...

    Just stumbled on a YT video about a dandy 300 acre SE SD pheasant ranch. Managed for pheasant production only with excellent habitat. Never had birds put on it.

    Yes, the dog and I now share a common language. Our conversations only occur after lights out. I do have to initiate them, and they go as follows: Me: rrrrr Dog: rrrrr Me: rrrrrrrr Dog: rrrrrrrr! This can go on but the dog quickly takes an argumentative tone, so I keep it short.
