    Pointer or flusher debate

Goose, I just had an idea and fleshing it out here in real time. You need to write a book, or I could ghost write it for you. Assorted chapters could be: -How to find and hunt the best ranches in Montana -What to do if you accidentally shoot a hen -Famous people I've hunted with -My life...

    Pointer or flusher debate

I sent my buddy a video clip last season. He is a huge duck hunter and responds back "you're breathing kinda hard." I wanted to tell him, "Yeah well I'm not sitting in a blind all day cooking eggs and bacon waiting for a bird to fly over my head. Humpin' through sloughs and snow-covered...

    HB 1236 Safety Zone Increase

In MN one thing that's nice is if you are standing on public land there are zero distance restrictions. You of course are responsible for your shot. However if you are on private land, then there is a "safety zone. " So if you own a nice crp field and a neighbor puts up a house close to the...

    Pheasants - Cold?

And there's also the fun fact that pen raised birds were tried several times but couldn't survive. It took rocket nets to capture wild birds in MO and brought to SE MN bluff country for them to take hold in MN. Ruffled grouse were traded for the turkeys.

    Pheasants - Cold?

Some of these turkeys nowadays are so high falutin' they live downtown. I think they roost in some high brow penthouse. They look down their beaks at the poor old country birds sleeping in trees.

    Here we go!

They really know how to cook good German food in Montgomery, last year I think the meal was pork loin, and man was it good!😋 I didn't win anything, but they had some good prizes so I'll try again this year. Hope I can make it, if not I attend a banquet at a neighboring county. It's nice to get...

    HB 1236 Safety Zone Increase

One good thing about this post is that you can learn a lot from reading other peoples point of view. I gather that most on this site are honest hunters who follow the rules, landowners trying to be good stewards of their property for wildlife, or both. Me personally I love pheasant hunting and...

20ga or 12ga for upland birds

I think the more important question than gauge is what ammo to shoot. I'll leave out tss, because it's not economically feasible unless you're really into reloading and want to roll your own. If you plan on shooting steel then a 12 gauge is the way to go. Yes, plenty a bird has been killed by...

    Bird Numbers

We will see what happens to the formula if and when the genetic strain sees a shift. They would have to add a strong inverse reduction to overall take should the blueback pheasant migrate north from Kansas and increase its percentage of overall bird biomass. They're that much tougher to kill...
