This. We had good moisture throughout the summer. It’s been a little dry in my part of SEK here to start the fall, but nothing out of the ordinary for Kansas. We were very much spared the drought that afflicted states to the north of us.

My condolences. It’s never easy, especially at that age. When the time is right, there are lots of puppies out there who would love to start a new adventure with you!

Some areas will be poor, some areas will be good. It is what it is. The only thing that I know for sure, is that there are birds out there, and I will be out there with the dogs hunting them.

Saw one while Spring Snow Goose hunting in eastern South Dakota in ~2008 or so. I’ve seen an awful lot of pheasants here in Kansas over the years, and all have been normal coloration.

Every once in a blue moon I’ll see one in Chautauqua County. Always glad when I do.
