Look at the tail of each bird...chicken has a squared or box tail, not pointed like a hen. At least that's what I watched for, in addition to wingbeats, when they flushed in NE.

Definitely Huns. Used to have them around home in central MN in the 80's. Haven't seen a MN flock in many many years unfortunately.

Understood. Time is what I need on remote hunts. Pretty sure it's a 2x vaccine then annual boosters. Maybe take dog on road trip to vet out state.

Anyone know of a vet in MN with snake vaccine?? Trying to get dog vaccinated and striking out with local vets. Tired of hearing "we don't have rattle snakes" every time I call a vet office. You'd think someone would understand hunters travel to area with snakes. Prefer a more local option...

Rarely if ever wear insulated. Like stated several posts above, keep them dry with good quality sock, and keep moving.

That safety issue seems spot on. Buddy tried a sxs this past fall for "nostalgia"...first flush excitement...BOTH BARRELS. Sharptail didnt stand a chance! 😂 Agree with single select if I venture to sxs. Barely, BARELY, used to the o/u...plus I'm and oddball shooting top barrel first...
