BB, It is very easy to get lost on the great northern woods. Ask me how I know. Typically you look for Aspens 7-15 years old, hopefully with ferns on the ground. Typically no more than about 2-3" in diameter. It also helps to have conifers mixed in with the Aspens.

It's like my 2 snl's go "hunting" every year. Preserve hunting, kill 30 or more Roosters. Their darling wives say they deserve to get birds. They work hard, lol. They do it because it is EASY.

Point, Not sure the drop in hunters in KS is a culture issue. It is about the huge drop in bird numbers. I agree culture is changing quickly though. I see it in my own family.

I'm with u guys on KS. When I first starting hunting whia in KS it was unbelievable. Not much hunting pressure at all. Then things changed. KS game started promoting, less crp, etc. Bus loads of hunters, less habitat. Game dept wanted the license revenue, didn't worry about anything else...
