    Spring wild turkey

My plan is to shoot one right in the face at 20 yards. My strategies have changed through the years. Labor intense work kept me in in pretty good shape for years. But the toll catches up with a guy. If I hadn't landed a desk job for the last decade or so of my career, I don't think I'd still be...

    Land prices.

I'm not sure how much they are seeking here. My neighbor signed up his entire 40 acers. I haven't heard anything from the rest of my neighbors. The project in the county south of me is 1200 acers. Roomer is double that before they're done.

    Land prices.

It is. It used to be that people would sit down and figure out If they could make money on farm ground. Now it seems it doesn't matter if they can make anything on it or not. I really don't get it. I can only assume they just have the money to burn and but it because they want it.

More than likely, a storm and or hail will wipe them out. Then the landowner will wind up with a very large solar panel dump.

    Land prices.

That sounds crazy. I was offered 6k per acre with a 2k sign up. I turned it down. The county south of me has a ginormous solar farm going in. Just getting the power to the power plant will cost millions. It doesn't add up to me! There is no way in hell that's ever going to show a profit...

    Reloading question

I guess I wasn't very clear. What I meant was could I create a shell say 2 7/8 with no crimp would it be safe. I probably should stick with 2 3/4 like Zeb say's. I don't think the difference in chamber pressure is that much between 2 3/4 and 3 inch. but the spread-out crimps constricting the...

    Reloading question

For some of you reloading experts. I have a 1965 56e Beretta 20-gauge with 2 3/4 chambers. I had choke tubes put in it and have some turkey chokes ordered. As I'm trying to figure out what loads I'm going to shoot a thought accrued to me. Since a 2 3/4-inch shell is only 2 3/4 after it's fired...

    WANTED - SxS Shotgun

Don't forget to get short barrels. They're easier to get out the truck window! 😁

    A5 20ga

Before you order one on GB, call the seller and make sure they have it in stock. Some of the sellers will put them on the site without actually having them in stock. I won a new gun a while back. Tried to contact the seller with no luck. No way I'm sending money without talking to them. Come to...

    1330 fps

I have tested the cheap shells. They are all pretty much the same with the Winchesters slightly better (in the gun I used). Back when I quail hunted with a 12 gauge, the cheap light loads were all I used. I never noticed any difference. As I evolved, I found that the smaller the gauge the more...

    Nasty little habits

My young wire loves my wife. On her lap constantly. Now she's sneaking licks from the wine glasses. Sleeps late every day and yesterday rolled her eyes at me!

    Rem 105 CTi questions

Exactly, when they came out, I thought here we go with the carbon into the shotguns and bottom eject!! How cool. I was thinking if this goes, I'm getting a 20 when they come out. Then they just disappeared. Didn't know why till now.

    Rising straight away shot

Don't try this at home folks!! Believe it or not I have bent a few shotguns barrels by whacking them over a rimless tire. Bought a beautiful 37 Ithaca 20 full choke from a kid in a Walmart parking lot at 10:00 at night. Next morning I couldn't wait to shoulder it and stroke my wonderful gun...

Early 1950's Browning Light 12 Gauge Shotgun Potentially for Sale

Not really interested but, had the opportunity to trade for one a while back. I was impressed at the weight and feel. Came up good but looked to have aftermarket wood so I passed.

    Dog Journal

I have two notebooks, starting in 86. I leaf through them once in a while. I know that I hunted to much, some years over 100 days, counting quail, Phez, squirrels, doves, rabbits, and turkeys. Then somehow managed to shoot a lot of clay and fish in the summer. No wonder that 1st wife didn't last...

    Pointer or flusher debate

I've always been a pointing dog guy. I would scoff at the flushers when the topic would come up. There's no way they could cover enough ground to find the wild quail coveys. Flash forward a decade. Now it's mostly flare nares and planted Chuckers, with a couple trips west. My young GWP has...
