    I lived in Frontenac a for few years back in the 70's One of those years was well above Pittsburg's 44" annual rainfall (I want to say around 60"). Quite a shock for this old western Kansas boy that was used to 17-18" at the Ponderosa.

    The Kansas wheat harvest is starting way too early. Some reports from Gt. Bend and Hutch area. Recent rains around the Ponderosa has moved it back but a bit, but fields only days away.

    Had two days of rainy weather and added 1.60" (PTL) at the Ponderosa making the total for the year at 2.95" Wheat harvest is really early this year by 2-3 weeks with some in the area getting cut next week. Haven't seen any hatches yet.

    Received our first rain of the year last night. Fast 1.25" The Ponderosa received no beneficial snow over the winter, so this rain was very welcoming, and I hope it "primes the pump". Praise the Lord!

    Very dry. Had a couple inches of snow on the level on February 10th. Had a few mini blizzards with just a little snow and gale force winds over the past few months. A lot of red flag days. Forecast looks to be dry for next ten days, with a 60% chance on saturday, the 27th. Thanks for checking...

    Guzzlers map Comanche Nat. Grassland

    There is a map with guzzlers marked on the Kansas side(Cimarron National Grasslands), would think there would be something similar for Comanche.
