Had a nice rain this morning at the Ponderosa, 1.50". Praise the Lord. An unusual rain with cold northly winds. The last rains have everything green at the moment. Moisture in the forecast for the rest of the month. Hopefully, that will happen, as the subsoil moisture is still depleted.

After 7 1/2 months with no rain and no snow, finally the skies opened up. Received 2.15" over two days. A blessing. Praise the Lord!

I wear snake gaiters almost daily here at the Ponderosa because of the high numbers of rattlesnakes and my inability to hear them. I have never had a test. They do work well for keeping other sticky things like cactus at bay.

It would be nice if that quarter of an inch primed the pump, but ten day forecast doesn't look promising. I am concerned with winter kill since the roots have not gone deep.

Had a little drizzle and now dense fog. That's all for now and doesn't look promising in the ten day forecast. I made a run to Garden City yesterday. It is so extremely dry everywhere along Highway 400(50). Visibility poor with dust in the air. I pray better days will come soon.
