    Getting Old Sucks

New knees or fixing up the used ones? Happy rehab. The motion is the lotion. Had two at the same time, then a redo. Back to the recumbent exercise bike. God bless. Have friends with much worse.

    16 gauge

The quality wears on long after the price is forgotten. Life is too short to hunt with the wrong gun/dog. 😀 You are going back to work, you deserve what you want. Santa shoots a Beretta.

    Golden Retrievers allowable hunting temps

I had to laugh, never seen Newfie and squirrel hunting in the same sentence. There is a short movie titled “Super Dogs”. Newfies are used for water rescue off the coast of Italy. You will watch it more than once. It is fascinating. Enjoy

Need a bird boy? As much as I like hunting, shooting like this is better. Everyone happy.

Hard to find Berettas in 16ga. Good luck in your journey with your wife and swamp collies.

End of shooting hours,? for evening hunters

Couple of rules are in order, limit by two, cleaned by three and cocktails at four. Cold and dark is my beer, not when I clean birds.🍺🍺

    Training program for Goldens?

Golden boy, I’m talking about an elevated level of aggression, where the dog wants to reduce you to the molecular level. I can tolerate food, hormonal and crate aggression. Some dogs will never be able to overcome their genetics. Congrats on your breeding.

    Enough hunting sortof

Yesterday is now history and tomorrow is a mystery. I can still take nourishment and haven’t appeared in the obits. Try to help someone everyday. God bless. Life gets shorter every day. These are the good old days for many of us. Enjoy the journey

    Training program for Goldens?

Human aggression in any hunting breed is unacceptable. Easy enough to remove an individual dog from the gene pool. Where would you draw the line, two stitches, six stitches or twenty stitches in your child?? The only goldens that I have personally dealt with human aggression have been intact...

    Poor man’s quail

You take what God provides. Enjoy the prairies as much as I do. In NW WI best cover is tag alder river bottoms. Best to you in 2025

    Poor man’s quail

Do you travel a ways to chase timberdoodles? In the cover we chase them, you need to remove one trigger and cut those barrels back a ways. When the flight is down, we kill way too many accidentally stepping on them and watch them cough up worms. Got bait? 😁

    Tail Length

Years ago SD held an annual long tail contest, longest ever recorded 28.5” Uncle Mike is really close. We used to count rings, but high ring counts did not always equate with the longest tails. Genetics

    Looking for a New O/U

Last time I hunted with Santa, he was shooting a Beretta 687 20ga. 28” barrels with English stock and upgraded wood. Maybe he was field testing the gun for you Britt, check for light scratches. If it doesn’t fit you, please reply back to him and drop the name Birddude.😁

    Dogs over 10

Librela has been very effective controlling the pain of OA. Some dogs might not need injections as often as others. Owners need to judge the frequency of injections. Takes the place of NSAIDS. Keep up the glucosamines.

    Dogs over 10

Glucosamine is an OTC drug and very well tolerated by dogs, results vary. Quite a few meds can help MILD cases of OA. It is hard to overcome poor conditioning, aging and genetics. I want to die chasing chukars at 90 years of age. 😊
