The first question has to be what is your budget? Is it $800? or $8,000? or $80,000? If you max spend is going to be $1,000 no matter what, throwing out offerings that start at $4k or $5k isn't going to do you any good.

Just FYI, if you ever hunt in Missouri, plug is required no matter the bird species. I thought my new found friends when I moved over here were screwing with me when we drove 4 hours to northern Missouri and asked if I had brought my plug. Back before smart phones, I had to use the hotel lobby...

Another vote for Gerber Vitals. Have one set in kitchen and a couple pair in my bird boxes. They have a “bone notch” that some other shears lack. Keeps the bone from squirting out during the cut.
