A couple of years ago, at annual pheasant camp in Iowa, we took pigeon breast, dredged in frying mix, and deep fried it. We then coated in Buffalo Wild Wings sauces. We used the hot sauce and Parmesan garlic. All of it was eaten and nobody complained. There is much call to do it again this year

That is a terrible pattern percentage with a modified choke. In fact that is a bad pattern percentage for a gun with no choke. This may explain why Roster's study determined that unbuffered bismuth demonstrates a higher crippling rate than steel for waterfowl.

I do not disagree with much of your assessment of Roster's article. When I read that I am reminded of waterfowl hunting on managed waterfowl areas in Michigan. Some hunters have zero clue regarding the effective range of a shotgun. Many will take shots at nearly any bird that they see...
