    Playing with patterns

So I took 3 shots just as I would be shooting a bird today, no aiming like a rifle, just a natural shot and here is what it looks like. I was going for a 60/40 shot distribution. I did not count pellets but I would say I am pretty close to 60/40. I could shim down to a D shim and lower POI...

Tristar Viper G2 or Weatherby Element - Back Up & Rainy Day Gun

I try and buy one new shotgun every year. Bought the M2 a week ago. Have a new Browning A5 20 on order. And I am on the hunt for a mint condition Ithaca Model 37 20 gauge with a 26 inch vent rib and Improved Cylinder.

Tristar Viper G2 or Weatherby Element - Back Up & Rainy Day Gun

I always grab my synthetic guns on rainy or snowy days, my Browning Maxus Wicked Wing or my new Benelli M2. If I were on a budget, I would consider a CZ over the ones mentioned. Personally, I own a lot of guns, and all are Benelli or Browning. I would not consider any of them back-ups.

    New Benelli M2

I went out and shot my gun at paper tonite. Shoots about dead on. Best shell and choke combo was a modified Briley extended tube and Winchester Super Pheasant #5. Golden Pheasant #5 had to many holes in the pattern.

    New Benelli M2

So you keep the bead in front of the bird. Birds rise so the Benelli is designed to shoot a 60/40 split high. You may pattern high, but if you are using the bead, you will be deadly in the field. That is why many people struggle shooting a low rib Montefeltro. I tend to shoot low and behind...

    New Benelli M2

Mine loads easy. Don't know how old your guns are but the M2 got a make-over last year. Much different gun now. I am going to pattern it with Briley tubes. Most factory tubes pattern poorly. If your gun shot high and left, that is because the gun did not fit you. That is what the shim...

    New Benelli M2

Bought a new Benelli M2 20 gauge in Optifade camo yesterday. Took it dove hunting last night and really enjoyed shooting it. Much different than shooting the low rib Montefeltro's. As usual, not a hiccup from a Benelli.

    Importance of eCollars?

Not wanting to give up a bird or wing when a pup is introduced is what you want to see. That is not being hard-headed, that is a dog with strong prey drive. Dogtra Arc is a great e-collar and very inexpensive. Retail is under $250. That is less than 3 bags of dog food. As far as...

    Muck/Rubber Boots For Upland

Who wears muck style boots for upland hunting and what are your favorites? I am done with lace up boots for several reasons. One they always manage to leak at some point, I am always re-tying the laces, and I hate bending over to lace them up. I miss the speed laces and wind up skipping a...

    Purpose of Force-Fetch?

Well lucky for you, force fetch isn't teaching a lab to retrieve. You obviously don't understand the process.

    Purpose of Force-Fetch?

I introduce a litter to a clipped wing pigeon around 6 to 7 weeks. If I buy a pup they are introduced at 8 weeks when I bring them home. They get birds at least once a week up til force fetch. They are retrieving dead pigeons long before 3 months.

    Purpose of Force-Fetch?

Month 4 doing multiple marks, month 5 hand signals, and month 6 running blinds. If it were only that easy. Always entertaining on the forums. A pheasant dummy on a 3 month old pup??????? Stick to a paint roller once or twice a week.

    Accidental Pheasants in W Kansas

Pollinator strips aren't there for hunters, they are there for the birds and the bee's. Very beneficial. And if they help pheasants escape hunters, even better.

    Accidental Pheasants in W Kansas

I would rather see a pollinator strip over a 7 acre crp patch. At least they don't graze or cut those.
