    Kick-eez Slip on recoil pads

I've found it helps to change recoil pads, depending on the season. I have a disability - right arm doesn't work very well, hence the difficulty in mounting the gun. Additional clothing in the winter does impact the ease of mounting. Changing the recoil pad, with the seasons, has helped me...

Benelli Legacy 12 Guage year 2000 stock needed

Sounds like a reasonable approach. Here's a thought: in my experience it's far easier to refinish the entire stock ( stain to match the forend) than attempt to match a small piece. If you can find a good paint store, they could match the existing, or come close. Rockler has a stain dept that...

Benelli Legacy 12 Guage year 2000 stock needed

Some fillers are a brown tone - that's what I would try vs tan or clear.

Benelli Legacy 12 Guage year 2000 stock needed

Bob: Filling the chip area is relatively simple - staining it to match the stock, more of a challenge; take the stock to a reputable paint store for a match vs off the shelf stain. There are several wood- filler products on the market - Minwax is one you could try. Filling will be easier and...

Help with an A-5 serial number.

Nice looking gun - hope you enjoy shooting/hunting with the A5. For-end cracks are common with this gun as the wood is very thin and gets jolted from recoil. Here's a fix: open the crack a bit and insert a good quality wood glue, then clamp over night. A thin coat of epoxy or fiberglass...

    2022/2023 PHEASANT Hunting Videos

Bob, Great dog work and shooting as well. Having a 12.5 yr Golden myself, reminded me of all the wonderful hunts I have had with my Max. Seems like all Golden's love to retrieve, but also want to prance around and show off a bit. You have two fine dogs...thanks for sharing your video's. Jon

    Heated Gloves?

While heated gloves work (kind of) I now use heated glove-liners with a stretch glove over the top. This seems to work better than the heated gloves that are a bit bulky. The challenge is to find gloves that stretch over the liners...

    Training:Male or female?

Thanks, Tom! Contemplating another dog now that Max is 121/2. Perhaps a female dog might be in my future... Assume you know about Patrick's wife situation...

    Training:Male or female?

AK: Thanks for the interesting summary...male dogs seem to out-perform the females, at least in field trials. My concern is prey drive and train-ability. Have had five males, the last two liked to wander off and hunt by themselves. Probably a training issue but wonder if females have similar...

    2022/2023 PHEASANT Hunting Videos

Interesting video, Brent. For me, a real challenge when ditch hunting is keeping the dog from wandering into public land. Ace seems to know the boundaries! Observation on the first part of the video: rooster that fails to fly sometimes isn't a bird but a critter - I usually call the dog off...

    G. Hour: I don't recall reading about how you trained Sage. She's an amazing dog, intense, but seems to look at you while in hot pursuit. If you could, tell us about the training that Sage went through...or perhaps Sage just a natural! Thanks!

    Rate your gaiters.

Have had Outdoor Research gaiters for years - well built and have lasted a long time. I did buy an off brand on Amazon and they fell apart after a couple of seasons: Velcro came loose (snaps are a better idea) and the portion that wraps around the boot had to be redone.
