    Preferred 20 Gauge Shell

I contemplated the CZ for a bit after handling it but it seems to be 50/50 on if you get a good one or not. Plus I'm a pretty big Browning fan boy haha

    Preferred 20 Gauge Shell

I checked out the CZ ultralight at Scheels when I ordered my Citori. That thing was incredibly light.

For Sale: 1952 Marlin 336 RC .35 Remington

I know we all like shotguns most here but my dad has a 1952 Marlin 336 RC .35 REM for sale. I have an idea of value on it using Gun Broker and True Gun Value, he's thinking $800 is fair given what others have sold for in auctions. He has gotten a couple trade in offers from shops local but...

    Why I love labs

I'd bet a well trained Small Munsterlander can keep up with the same well trained lab just the same on cold water retrieves.

Thanks a lot for this. Really helpful.

    Many of us are pigs.

Not to rag on waterfowlers, but they definitely seem messier than upland guys. Whenever I've gone duck hunting with some buddies who are waterfowl only types, they always have a bag with snacks. They always take their trash back with them, but I question how many guys with the same snack bags do...

    Preferred 20 Gauge Shell

Yeah if I decide to grab a pair I'll get the non ported versions. I like ported chokes for my turkey gun but that's about it.

    Preferred 20 Gauge Shell

Thanks for the offer but this gun has the new DS chokes

    Preferred 20 Gauge Shell

How do you like the Briley chokes? I may invest in a set for this gun. You notice any difference in patterning?

    Preferred 20 Gauge Shell

Thanks all for the suggestions. I'll probably end up patterning a handful of shell brands this summer as well. I saw mostly 3" at my local Scheels when I ordered the gun so might have to go with 3s to start out and then order some 2.75s and do some patterning.

    Preferred 20 Gauge Shell

That was my assumption as well. That 2.75 would be just fine but I haven't shot a 20 gauge as a bird gun in almost 20 years and I definitely didn't pay attention to shell specs much then or can I even remember what I used back then. Thankfully my breed club is having a fun hunt in a couple...

    Preferred 20 Gauge Shell

Pulled the trigger today on ordering my first over under. I have a 20 gauge Citori 725 Feather on order through Scheels that's supposed to be here in about a week and would like some shell recommendations. The gun can shoot 2.75 or 3 inchers, anyone see much difference that shoots a 20? I use...

    Browning Dura Touch Recall Repair

Got my Maxus back yesterday afternoon. Completely re-dipped and looks good. I didn't get the new pattern I requested but the guy on the phone told me they wouldn't change it since the original pattern was available. A little bummed but no biggie. The Duck Blind pattern must have changed a bit...

    How many shells?

Yeah I'm not ragging on game farms by any means and have been to them before usually as a training tool or tune up for the dogs. But I've watched enough episodes of The Flush to know that they do often showcase those private "preserves". Don't get me wrong, I like the show and watch it. I have...

    How many shells?

That's because they encounter hundreds of "wild" birds in those perfectly manicured sorghum plantations that I never seem to find when I look at the public atlas haha
