Tell me this isn't smokin' hot

Yes, one should always check for oneself. And read carefully. No representation is made IRT the number of flu deaths in S. Dak, much less the US. And as to world wide numbers, here's what Johns Hopkin actually says: "(The CDC does not know the exact number because the flu is not a reportable...

As has been suggested elsewhere - which set of numbers and which "analysis" at what point in time do you determine as "real", and which do you consider bogus? The gross disparity between SD "got it" and "died from it" numbers, alone, strongly suggests that we still don't even know how to...

    Am I the only one

Looks like the Keystone Pipeline will probably live, after all. Hit me in the pocketbook (though not even close to being down to where I bought) but any event - Keystone is good for America so I'd gladly lose every nickel I have in, to see fuel prices kept low.

Good Lord. You already have a high degree of immunity from your recovery, and have taken one round of vaccine. Treatments have become much more effective, too. Plus the variants will be here soon (are already in at least two states, if you can believe that). I'm holding out for the J&J...

Good point. Also, 70% of deaths came in obese people, and nearly all fatalities had at least one co-morbidity -- so actual deaths due to COVID were probably over reported, especially early on. I understand that hospitals were paid a bonus of sorts to cover increased costs of handling COVID...

Was that the first or second shot in the series that you reacted to? By all reports - the 2nd one is the one that usually hits one hardest.

I see where you are going here. Can pheasants get COVID? Maybe they should be wearing masks, too. I recommend a government mandate to that effect.

Tell me this isn't smokin' hot

What's lacking to date is establishment of cause/effect, guys like us speculate based on anecdotal evidence -- and our conclusions seem to be at least as valid as the big dollar "experts". If high initial rates made for good times now - hard to decipher NY state, for example. Sorry to hear...

Kansas Trespassing Fee for Private Land

I'd be happy if the states would just cease and desist actively reducing access for residents (whether intentional or not).

It has been quite consistent throughout the pandemic, or whatever it is. I just plucked this from the headliner blurbs - and "People" is hardly a right leaning source, I might add. COVID Cases Are Rising Again in 14 States, Primarily in the Upper Midwest and New York Area (msn.com) No...

Tell me this isn't smokin' hot

FWIW, caught out of the corner of my eye on this morning's news that MN, WI, MI, NY aren't doing as well as the less restrictive states on COVID rates. They followed what has passed for science (maybe, more politics). I'll cast my vote for a healthy (groan) skepticism on this one. Have you...

Kansas Trespassing Fee for Private Land

Dwindling access opportunities for Kansas resident hunters results when heavy nationwide marketing drives widescale leasing. Would like to learn more about pollinating habitat vs non-pollinating habitat. Is this a vegetative cover issue, or something more?

    Am I the only one

Am I the only one eyeing early to mid-fall of this year with apprehension? If the large cap gains and personal income tax gains being crafted as we speak are implemented, and if the inevitable "print it until you drop" forced inflation drives interest rates up and money printing rates down --...

It's ALIVE!!!! Thank you, Huede: Here, hold my beer. Would you qualify that marketing effort with the phrase "for the benefit of state taxpayers, not the state's wildlife exploitation bureaucracy"? Not the same thing, unfortunately. Brace for impact.

    Waterfowl?

Duck and goose can be made palatable if you remember that it is not domestic poultry - much drier - but Huede was referring to cow flops as the basis for a meal. There may be cooks that could make that taste OK - but I'll still pass!

Tell me this isn't smokin' hot

Has it occurred to you that the real problem is dependence on the government for health care, not failure to obey their edicts - which they get to do because they make your fellow taxpayers fund your decisions (poor or otherwise)? That's circular logic.

Good points. Not to be Mr. Doom but also, not sure how it doesn't get covered more, but TB is back in many of our urban areas., especially. And more drug resistant than in the past. You ought to see the list of vaccinations our little ones are required to be infused with, just to attend...

Doc says I have 10% cataracts, whatever that means. So, no slicing yet but it's a comin'. He says that is excellent for my age. I think it is excellent for his business!
