    Might be a bismuth shortage.

I haven't any fracturing with Boss, I shoot 5 or 6's when out west. I did get fracturing with Kent bismuth.

What are guys using for their video cameras, in the market for an upgrade. Wondering if anyone is using anything other than a gopro? Also you have chosen the camera your using. Searched to see if there were other posts on this subject but didn't find any. Thanks in advance.

    English Setters

I agree, all my dogs have been part of the family and lived in the house most of the time. They do have outdoor kennels for when we are gone an extended time. I think it forms a stronger bond between hunter and dog then those that are only kennel dogs.

I would talk with Prairie Drifter, he breeds great setters and could give you good insight on the pedigree.

    2024/2025 Pheasant Hunting Videos

Here is a video report from my December trip to SD with my son and his buddy. Most birds harvested were captured on video, as well as some misses, did have camera issues. Birds ranged from holding somewhat tight to flushing randomly. Hope you enjoy. Dec 16th - Each of us bagged a bird in...

    Pointer or flusher debate

Regarding cattails, it is a choice you have to make and somewhat commit too. If frozen and ice is thick enough to hold my weight then I will get into the cattails as well, easier to keep track of the dog(s) and get to a point. If standing water I try to keep the dogs on the edge but have had...

    Preferred Hunt Start Time

Being someone who travels from out of state, i'm at the mercy of the state regs. If in SD i'm hunting shortly after 10 if in Nebraska just depends on how far i travel from base camp but try to be in the field by 8 or 830. I could see early in the year in SD where the hunting might not start...

    Pheasants Forever Banquet Ideas

How about a Decked Draw system for a pickup bed.

What do you use to hold your gear in bed of your truck?

I use a two drawer system with dividers and I have top storage on my dog box as well.

    Pointer or flusher debate

Short answer is move on to the next bird, it is part of the pursuit. Part of a successful point is the bird(s) holding till the hunter flushes the bird. Alot of time the dog will be on point and the birds will walk away from the point, typically if the bird doesn't flush you release the dog to...

    Season Wrap Up

Great summary A5, love watching your videos with Ace, he sure is a fine dog! I was able to do my two trips out west first one was a split between Nebraska and SD where I picked up Vera and was able to somewhat fill my quail addiction and scratched a few pheasants as well in a short two day...

    Shooting Woes - Help Needed

Got to a trap and skeet field and shoot clays but carry gun like you do in the field then call for the target. The other thing to think or consider is how you lead the bird. Do you use a sustained lead or pass-thru lead, continue your swing regardless of what technique you use.

What produces recoil? Velocity or payload?

Recoil is felt when target shooting and not felt when shooting game...... In my experience i have only notice the hotter, high velocity, shells producing noticeable recoil when shotting at birds.

    Bird dog foreleg protection

These might be simple/stupid questions but how old is your dog and how often has he or she been exposed to barb wire? I live in Michigan and hunt primarily grouse and woodwork with no fences. When a pup goes to pheasant country there is some education about learning how to cross/handle fences...
