Depends on the weather. If it is warm enough they could roost in any of the places you mentioned. Once it gets cold they'll almost always roost in the thick stuff.

I have a strap vest and coat, both are browning and have considerable years and miles. Both have been well worth the money as well. The strap vest sees 90 percent of the field time. I only wear the coat if it’s below 20 or there is precipitation.

Can’t really offer any advice but I do sympathize. I just underwent an mri Thursday so still waiting on results but I’m fully expecting some sort of surgery. I fully intend on being back in the field come fall.
