    2 day walk in trip

It helps keep some of the snow off of the road and gets some air to them so they dry out quicker. No growth around the edges probably prevents some fires. That’s what I always thought anyway. Back when the ditches were unmowed I don’t remember there being as many oil trucks on the roads. Maybe I...

Right from the bed. Mine pretty much follows the profile of my rear window. Height wise maybe an inch or inch and a half higher.

    Softopper

I don’t have mine up right know. I can measure it later. Measuring the back window of my dodge I’m guessing it’s about 38 tall. 52-54 wide at its narrowest point. Something like that. Matt Davis final rise had a video with soft topper and decked I think he may have had lucky ducks. You might...

Warmest supple gloves for 15 degree weather

Right now I’m wearing some mountain hardware route setters. I get 2 or 3 years out of a pair of gloves. At thanksgiving my brother in law had on a pair of hestra job titan flex . European sizes he was wearing 9s . I like a little air so maybe 10s for me. I like the pre curved style of glove. At...

    Kansas First-timer

First couple hrs of day or last hour before dark. Where crp meets crop. During the middle of the day on public land like that pheasants will walk into the core and find someplace. safe The tall grass is probably the hardest thing to hunt at Texas lake. It’s over your head tall and clumpy and...

    Kansas First-timer

I don’t know the rotations this year , but you’ll probably see some cotton and beans If possible Id hunt fields closer to milo, wheat stubble, corn. Texas lake you can get wet pretty easy. Bring extra socks and boots if have them. Check the plum thickets, wild sunflower weed patches and the...

Non-Toxic Bismuth (not Steel) for Quail

    Kuiu upland vest

I front loaded until last season. Maybe people have been doing this for years. But Sunday I loaded a mallard and a rooster by cradling each on my wrist and the underside of my forearm and they rear loaded pretty easy.

What’s everyone using for non toxic shell’s? For pheasants

It’s through a fabarm LM LM top and bottom. I haven’t been able to do any bettter IM gives me a few more pellets but donuts I think? And I had a choke made that’s between IM and Full. It donuts too but not as much and gives me an honest 70 percent. LM in a beretta pintail patterns about like...

    Kuiu upland vest

Yeah that price is hard to swallow. Treat yourself I doubt you’ll regret it. I just figured this out yesterday. I have no flexibility. If you cup that bird like a football to load it in the back, for me it went in a lot easier.

What’s everyone using for non toxic shell’s? For pheasants

I’m not sold on the Kent’s yet. I’d been wondering if velocity up close has been causing them to fracture and get poor penetration. Pretty small sample and some shooter error but I haven’t had a clean kill in the 20 yd range yet. 3 have been hit but not well and kept flying. Another 2 have...

    Kuiu upland vest

Looks like it’s sold out in blaze. The price is definitely more attractive. What I like about final rise, chief, and marsupial is that they are American success stories and have a face that you can relate to. I don’t know enough about chief to know how he got started. The other two got started...

    Time for another e collar!!

I lose track of my little dog all the time. I think the pathfinder 2 would be great with a flushing dog. It would be ideal with a watch. I wonder how well it works with a cheap android or apple knock off. I don’t need all the functions , just an arrow and the tone function would be plenty.

Blockers, what chokes are you using.

I patterned some federal bismuth with the flight control wad. It went from 192 pellets at 30 yds to 111 at 35. It was through a light mod. Maybe improved cylinder would have done better. I think you choke looser with that wad to get tighter?
