Here’s the new patterns . Bottom barrel is from a second trulock light mod .710 tube I ordered . Top barrel is a trulock light full .697. This was offhand 30 and 40 yds.
I float the bird but I shot these with a flatter bead than I normally would to get the pattern down a little bit.
Kent 1 1/4...
They are fun to play with. I got to ask though patterning how can you see those tiny holes. I patterned some bismuth and had a hard enough time counting # 4s 😄
Old eyes.
I’m going to hopefully shoot some chickens in the morning with lead and then spend a little time patterning bismuth in a new...
I guess that’s what I was getting at . 1/2 or 5/8 ounce of 8or 9s would do a better job. 11 s are itty bitty even if they do have same energy as a #6 lead. . I don’t think you need the extra pattern density for grouse do you. And the extra bit of recoil shouldn’t be that big of deal you only...
We call them open-faced roast beef sandwiches and the beef is sliced . If I ordered one and the meat came out chunked I think I’d be cussing it. Chunks belong on noodles. Do they put poutine gravy on it too.😂
We had to cut it a little early so I could get home with my daughter coming to town and so the guys could get back to Oklahoma. We ended up with 27 today.
The last two or three years I’ve hunted near pastures that were heavy in snow on the mountain spurge. Doves seemed a lot more predictable than the here today gone tomorrow doves that are hitting grain fields.
I heard a on a piece of a pod cast the other day that something like a third of farmers are over the age of 60 and another third over 50.
In my wife’s family she still has one uncle who farms. His sisters live out of state and have an interest in the farm. He draws a salary and is over farming...
One of my dogs suffers from allergies . She does better on beef or salmon and rice or the marine formula from Innukshuk. This summer months for her are worse I don’t know if it’s seasonal because of allergens in the air or from dryer skin and shedding out.
I’m trying bismuth this year , I’m treating my 12 gauge like a 16. I’m trying to shoot lighter loads at lower velocities. From what I’ve read a lot of bismuth loads come in under weight, I know the Kent’s that I bought are. True to size but a 1/16 or so under weight.
The steel shells have I...
My cousins grandson sent this to me the other day. He bought some for his grandpa. Not much for pheasants but maybe a good teal load. 50 bucks for the flat shipped.
Some of the cover crops used on state land will have millet mixed in with them. It would go something like turnips, mixed with some short and tall millets or maybe milo. . They run like crazy but it seems to hold plenty of pheasants
