I've been in.the smith center phillisburg area seen 2 pheasant broods and heard alot of quail..but just havnt seen the pheasant numbers...deer numbers look good

I been seeing quite a few broods around the McPherson area. one brood I saw had 9 chicks that could already fly...I think central Kansas will be the best region this next year..also been seeing some quail

I personally think that 8 quail are way too many especially with the quail in decline...most states have 4 or 5 bag limits..also if south Dakota is the king of pheasants why is Kansas bag limit 4 roosters while south Dakotas is 3..Kansas hasnt had the bird numbers like south Dakota's in years

I personally think the pheasants will rebound this summer, if we keep getting rain like most of the state has been, it'll be better than the last two seasons it couldn't be any worse I think also the wheat crop is 3 weeks behind giving pheasants extra brooding time

Depending how this summer goes with all the weather. How it could affect bird numbers again. Well my uncle might bring some of his co workers up to bird hunt next year and depending if its going to be bad again. I might buy some pen raised "ready to fly birds" to plant early in the morning...

Might head out tomorrow,wednsday,and maybe Thursday before the season closes around the McPherson/lindsborg/canton area any advice?
