    Crying over spilled shot

If only you were loading steel; although getting those little suckers off a magnet could be a nightmare. Oh, here's thought, next time drop steel, but have an on-again-off-again electro-magnet. always here to help. (y) ooh, ooh, ooh.... Don't get between the steel shot and the magnet when...

    Hearing protection

I could use high-end hearing aids, but not in a position to spend that kind of money. My compromise is hearing enhancers, which just make everything louder, cost about $18 on ebay. I live alone, so its not a big deal for me. I still have moderate hearing in left ear. That's fine.

    Holster

Did some searching, using different terms (e.g., holster, caddy, stock support) and best examples I found were here: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=Shotgun+Hip+Holster&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjJ4qbG29r3AhWOkYkEHYxtDFkQ1QJ6BAgyEAE&biw=1265&bih=870&dpr=1 and...this one on Etsy...

The oddest thing you have had your dog point

It would be less time consuming and if the vet got involved, a lot cheaper if they avoided those "points". Point well-taken. (y)

The oddest thing you have had your dog point

I have two friends who have GSP's and they love to "point" porcupines. Then we spend a half hour pulling out quills. Strangest thing they have pointed is an armadillo. MSCHNIP? You might want to have a talk with the GSPs, suggesting they not take "point" so literally.

    Healthy treats for training

In training, I just rely on extravagant praise and petting. Treats come, mostly undeserved, in the house--again, with extravagant praise. Heck, every evening, I threaten Tinker with a savage beating if her food bowl isn't empty. Then, as both of us expect, I celebrate loudly about what a...

    Outstanding or crazy dog story's

Nice retrieve, great bird work, wonderful dog--but I bet it was your "FETCH, ACE!!!!" shouts that kept him doing what he does so well. 😁 From the speed of his tail-wagging, Ace just LOVES bringing a bird back to you. Nice work.

    Training birds

Dunno the State, but consider using pigeons for some of your training. Around here, farmers would gladly have some of them trapped to reduce the numbers. They can be a big help. Best wishes.

    Holster

Coyote Leather in grand Parrie texas makes a belt mounted stock rest which allows you to hold the gun in a quick mount position with one hand. Works very well so you can rest or warm either hand while walking. He is also a pheasant hunter who knows what works and what a hunter needs. As I...

    Holster

Not quite a holster, but some years ago I messed around with the idea of using a hip shelf to rest a shotgun on--imagine a carpenter's hammer belt flap, with a solid wire loop to slide the hammer in. Now, take the hammer out, and rest your shotgun on it. It's feasible, but I dropped the idea...

    Clays

I was taken to a hunt club and treated to Sporting Clays some years ago. Hated it. I'm sure it is wonderful for those who like it, and can do well at it., but its charm escaped me. I'm a pretty solid hunter. Maybe clays would be more attractive if there were ruffed grouse around here, or...

    Dog's Name

Re-reading this thread brought back a memory of an old friend who took in a female shelter dog of mixed heritage. She named the dog: "Lotus Blossom, creature of intrigue and mystery." Dog developed an attitude.
