    Flinty Hills

Only tall grass I ever saw there was CRP. and very little of that nowadays. Everything else looked grazed down to nubbins. There are still birds there, but you'll have to cover a bunch of miles to find them.

    Kennel dogs and house dogs

I think britts are probably the best house/hunting dogs. Small, calm, very affectionate.

Ha, so I know you're not a fair weather only type guy, if you want a sxs, you're not going to want double triggers. They are a pain with gloves on. So the Fair Isid or that round body Rizzini comes to mind.

I guess the 1st question would be, how much you want to spend? The Turks are making some ok looking 16s. But If I didn't want to take out a loan, I'd be looking pretty hard at the Franchi Instinct.

    Missing GSH's near Ulysses

One of the sickest feelings you can ever have. It can happen for a number of reasons. I swear, I've seen older dogs take younger ones away in hopes they'll get lost and never come back. Old dog came back three days later. 4 days later a guy a few miles away called me with the young dog. Also...

I have owned a few, You will not beat the reliability of the Citori, no matter how much you spend. The feathers would be my pick as the lightning is a little heavy. I've owned 2 Fair Rizzini's. They are slimmer and lighter than the Citori. The 600 required a good cleaning after around 500...

    Kennel dogs and house dogs

Whatever breed you chose, there will be some exceptional breeders who try and breed for a shut off switch for folks who want house dogs. But if you can't get your dog's enough exercise every day, there will be problems. My dogs are pretty good but driving us crazy as we speak. Terrorizing the...

    Slowing your dog

You can adjust his range with the e collar. You can also train to stop and hold when he hits sent. Both will take a great deal of effort. It's probably the most common problem in the sport. Some dogs figure it out, some don't.

    Slowing your dog

Old timers would tie a log chain to them! I would get rid of a dog and ty again before I would do that. When I was young, I'd just jog for hours on end. The truth is, you either pour it on, hunt him hard and hope he gets over it. Or whistle break him, similar to what Gobler said.

    Here Kitty Kitty

Same in south Indiana. People been swearing they see them for years. One a very good friend. Finally, they came clean a few years ago when a guy caught one on a trail cam. Then just a couple years ago the first confirmed bear siting in like 100 years within 3 miles from my house. There's not...
