Dog not eating when on the road hunting

I've also had this problem. When I noticed that our dogs would eat after getting used to the surroundings and will always eat my buddy's leftover food of a different brand 1st. So, I mix the dog foods together, add a pouch of gainsbuger and some warm water. Then I use a small canvas tarp to put...

    Bird shooting lesson learned

There are really 3 different techniques, swing through, sustained lead and pull ahead. I seem to shoot better if I don't think about any of them!!

    Oddest Animal Pointed Ever

Found my old pointer in knee high grass one time. She was probably 300 yards away. Had to cross a ditch and a fence. Walked up expecting a big covey only to find a calf curled up sound asleep. Good thing mama wasn't around.

    Odd Encounters...

Many years ago, I heard a shot and looked up to see the neighbor boys walking down the fencerow that divides our place from theirs. As I watched I saw a quail get up and they shot and missed it. I let my shorthair out and walked across the field to them. Old Bob was a veteran that seldom made a...

    Dealing with stickers

Be careful though. I sheared my setter down to nothing once years ago. He felt great but laid out in the sun and got sunburned. I felt terrible.
