    Corner crossings

This is just about the worst advice you've ever offered here. And we all know a lot of what you spew is nonsense goose. Hunters like you who trespass and openly admit to it give the rest of us law-abiding hunters a bad rap. Openly advising someone to trespass could get you in serious legal...

    Corner crossings

I think most of us outdoorsmen would agree with you on this pretty blatantly. However, it's not as cut and dry as we might think it is. Which is why it ended up where it did. I'm not a landowner other than my own homestead and it's likely I'll never be, so it's difficult to put my feet in...

    Corner crossings

Iron Bar Ranch could appeal to the Supreme Court. But unlike the Appeals Court, the Supreme Court does not have to hear a case. They could take it, but they could also just decline too. In fact, most cases rarely reach the SC because they just don't have the time to hear it, or they simply...

    Game warden question

I'm straight as a grizzly's dick when it comes to these things. I enforce federal law for a living so skirting rules is not really my thing.

    Corner crossings

The US Court of Appeals in Denver, CO has upheld the ruling in this Wyoming corner crossing case today. They sided with the original lower court's ruling, stating that private landowners (in this case, Iron Bar Ranch) do not own the airspace above their property. The four hunters from the...

    Recent dog food experience

Take some time to read ingredient labels. A lot of consumers just look at the front of the bag and the brand name, and see a photo of a wolf eating wild salmon or something like that and make assumptions. Its pure marketing. Remember when they started advertising "grain free" with all that...

    Recent dog food experience

That's exactly it. They push their product for a profit. And the raw suppliers are even worse. Talk to your vet. That would probably be the best source of information on diet, and one size does not fit all. BTW, they are finding bird flu in raw pet foot. Buyer beware.

    Recent dog food experience

Lol that's pretty good. I generally use the term bottomless pit. There is literally no end to their appetite. It's as consistent as the sun coming up and going down every day.

    Pheasants - Cold?

Nope, completely untrue. No data or scientific study to back it up whatsoever. If you believe in Bigfoot or Megaladon then it might be true.

    Pheasants - Cold?

Extremely adaptable bird. Amazing that they were only re-introduced here to MN in 1971. They are an astonishing story of wildlife success.

20ga or 12ga for upland birds

I wouldn't say this is true. I see more ammo for 12 gauge than any other.

    HB 1236 Safety Zone Increase

This part I definitely agree with. The first thing they teach in firearms safety is not to verify your target before shooting. If there is something in the background or distance that is considered unsafe, you don't shoot. It's as simple as that. Taking into account distance and trajectory...

    HB 1236 Safety Zone Increase

This topic seems to come up here regularly. I realize you were not specifically referring to me, but I have voiced my opinion on the subject before and I'll do it again. I don't specifically set out hunting with the intent to "road or ditch hunt," ever. During the course of my hunts...

    HB 1236 Safety Zone Increase

The truth has been revealed here now it seems. What a shock. Talk about a lazy "hunter."

Thank you for that comment Bob.

    HB 1236 Safety Zone Increase

I could see that. The sheriff or CO generally has to catch you in the act to cite you too though; simply hearsay from a landowner isn't enough...unless of course one admits to it on record. I try to stay on the good side of landowners; without them, I would have no place to hunt.

    HB 1236 Safety Zone Increase

I deer hunted on public forest land for 25 years. Still never encountered one. I've also fished public water for over 20 years. Still never encountered one. Perhaps it's just a coincidence but 45 years in the woods or on the water is a hell of a long time to avoid any type of detection...

    HB 1236 Safety Zone Increase

I don't have any skin in this game, but I can't imagine such a rule would even be enforced with any remote type of regularity. The odds of running into an LEO are about as good as winning the lottery where I hunt. Neither has happened in almost 30 years here.

    Pheasants - Cold?

I have seen turkeys roost in pine trees too. Most of the time they seem to prefer a tall oak with big flat branches, but a big pine might help alleviate some of that extreme cold.

    Shed dogs ?

Finding a sizable bull elk or mule deer shed can be worth some decent money. The caveat is that you generally need both sides.
