    Lucky Duck dog kennel?

I really like my Gunner. I have the Intermediate for my 70lb Lab. It fits really well in the back cab area of my 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. I really don't mind the extra weight of it. I have an older Mud River kennel cover for it if I need to wrap it for him to sleep in when it's really cold. I have...

I love to do pheasant bites as an appetizer. I do them on my Traeger pellet smoker and they are amazing.

NEWS FLASH: Drought ends at Ponderosa

I just talked with a friend last night. We hunt their family farm that is split between Norton and Decatur counties. He said it is getting some good rains this year and things are looking pretty good vs. the last few years.

    Hello from Michigan

In the NW and N Central part of Kansas you could run into some prairie chickens as well. Hill City is a good starting point. I have access to a large family farm NW of there in Norton and Decatur counties that I hunt every year.

    What's in your vest?

Self care = living! I just can't imagine going afield without some basic medical care on my person for me and my dog. Even if it is just some 4x4's and a roll of vet wrap. Those couple of items can make all the difference for most injuries.

    What's in your vest?

I still have my old Army med bag that I keep in the truck for bigger events like MVA, etc. It has a staple gun and sutures, etc. I also have a dedicated dog bag in the truck as well. I have rolled up on too many MVA to not be prepared to help in some way. My vet is super at keeping me stocked...

    Hello from Michigan

Welcome. I was born and raised in SW GR. You should start to research north central and NW Kansas or E NE South Dakota. South Dakota has a ton of public land to hunt.

    What's in your vest?

I think you and I used the same list to prep for the season and gear. I bet the med bag in your truck looks a lot like mine as well.

OR, This is a typical research letter you would get from the Association. It is the letter for my 1905 00 grade. While this gun is the lowest grade, you can see a significant difference in the quality of the wood from 1905 vs. the 1940's. The case colors are 100% original. The previous owner...

OR, His Field was never chambered for 2 1/2" shells. Those post 1913 guns were all 2 3/4" chambers. His gun will shoot 2 1/2" shells just fine, I shoot the RST flavor in mine, but it would have been chambered for 2 3/4". If you have a pre-1913 for black powder, it must be a really early gun. My...

Welcome to the world of Elsie's! Your gun was made in 1919. It is a good example of a typical Field grade out and about right now. DO NOT shoot steel through it. I would suggest you order some shells from Boss. I shoot them in my Elsie's and have had great success. You will want to keep the...

I use a PupFlask and it is amazing! I keep a jug of water to refill the unit when getting low.

    Uninsulated Boots??

I’ve worn nothing but uninsulated boots for bird hunting in either Filson Uplander or Crispi Idaho GTX II flavors. I always wear good socks and I don’t get cold. I have the Crispi boots on in this picture.

I really enjoy my trips to the local preserve. The dog gets a lot more enjoyment than I do. I love watching him work the field and make the retrieve. It is 8-9hr drive for me to get into good wild bird country, thus not a quick weekend trip. The preserve is an hour each way.
