NEW CRP PROJECT

Just starting drilling this weekend into bean stubble.

Here is our seeding map. ~100 acres total. Shelter belt was planted two years ago.

Really excited to see what this property can produce for birds in the coming years!
Oh wow. It was all in beans, and you're seeding all the native grass/forb sections now? Great stuff! Lots of variety in there

Can’t wait to here about your success, this looks fantastic, will you enroll it In The federal program ?

If you enroll in it in the CRP program are the rates comparble to what cash rent would be ?

I hope you get a bit of snow once the drilling is done. You will get the benefits of seed stratification and the snow pushing the seed in. Bet you get a good stand in the spring. Must be a local seed company (Hawkeye tall grass and Cyclone short). What grasses are those mixes composed of?

Yes this is all federal program except the waterways and shelter belt.

CRP rates went down with new administration - had to wait a year but would have been ~$60 per acre higher a year ago. Not quite comparable to cash rent rates but somewhat competitive.
