I have never put much faith in this report. How would they know how many roosters are shot? I haven’t been checked in over 20 years.

They can't ask everyone, guessing every state does it quite similar. Guessing they use an average harvest that is reported, times the percentage of hunters that report going pheasant hunting...but not nearly that simple or maybe it is a simple deal. I have had a hunting license for close to 50 years, never got one for upland birds. I deer hunted for maybe 25 years and did receive that survey once.
