Alpha 300 upgrade, worth the squeeze?

Been using a 100 for many years now and it has been a great unit, always worked, etc. But some of the features of the newer models have caught my eye, functionality being the main thing.

Looking for comments on those who have made the jump up.

I tried to find an old post where I thought I talked about my upgrade experiences but maybe I never made one.

Anyway, I upgraded from a 100 to a 300 a couple years ago and feel it was a worthy upgrade. The battery life on the 300 is great. I can hunt all day, all weekend and not have to charge the handheld or the collar (I also got the new collars, TT 25, which have better battery life too).

Alot of the unit is the same as the 100, but a few features were nice and I thought worth it. Alot of quality of life improvement stuff. I like being able to not hear the annoying beep every time I bumped the screen and the screen was locked. Also being able to have customized buttons for the 3 top buttons is nice. I can also run the unit touch free, using just the buttons, even with the screen locked. And you can set it to unlock with one of the 3 buttons, so you don't need to find the unlock button in the screen itself, which was a challenge wearing gloves. A few other nice improvements here and there that I'm blanking on.

I think if you have the money to drop on it, it's a worthy upgrade, but if you're pinching pennies and thinking the $800 on the unit is going to be a major change or huge life improvement, it's not something that I think is worth dropping the cash on.
