Kuiu upland vest

Looks like it’s sold out in blaze. The price is definitely more attractive. What I like about final rise, chief, and marsupial is that they are American success stories and have a face that you can relate to. I don’t know enough about chief to know how he got started. The other two got started putting together a product at night and spare time and packing it up and shipping it out on weekends. I can suppor that.. It’s a big part of why I went with marsupial , was I watched a video of him describing how he got his start.
My feeling witout trying any of the others is that chief is great if you only hunt cool weather and final rise and marsupial allow you to hunt comfortably from September on. Looking at the kuiu it looks like it falls somewhere in between. Without first trying one the backpack bag on the back is a deal breaker for me. It looks hot And looks like it would block too much of your back if you were to go with the vest in a natural color.
An open back is something I never really thought about before I had one. But now that I do I’ll wear a blaze kuiu peloton vest under my hunting vest when I need the orange or the warmth. and skip it when I want to go stealth. I never really feel bogged down.

Great response. I really want the Final Rise but dam that price. When Kuiu is more affordable makes ya wonder. Like my Badlands but can’t load birds without taking at least one strap off and yes I’ve missed shot opportunities because of it.

Yeah that price is hard to swallow. Treat yourself I doubt you’ll regret it.
I just figured this out yesterday. I have no flexibility. If you cup that bird like a football to load it in the back, for me it went in a lot easier.

I have had a Wings Works for 16 years and just purchased a Final Rise Summit and have been very Happy with it , I put a bunch of miles on it Hunting Montana for a week , I really liked the ability to carry lots of water , They have thought about quite a few things like how you can carry a injured dog out of the feild with their vest etc .
Hope this helps

How is easy are the WW and FRS for loading birds?

How about a senior citizen with arthritic shoulders. Right now I have to take my vest off to load a rooster or two or three.
Anyone have a similar problem or solution? It works, but not ideal and not getting better. Thanks

It seems ridiculous to not be able to front load a bird, but maybe that is a tradeoff with these type of vests. I sure wouldn't consider one I couldn't easily and quickly stuff a bird into or that didn't have the state required blaze.

I looked a bit at the Kuiu vest to replace my older Filson vest. Other than being a tad on the heavy side, I really like the fit, feel, and capacity of my Filson vest. It is too bad they don't make it anymore.

I front loaded until last season. Maybe people have been doing this for years. But Sunday I loaded a mallard and a rooster by cradling each on my wrist and the underside of my forearm and they rear loaded pretty easy.

Final rise says if you can while your bottom you can load a bird in the vest. I have bad mobility in both shoulders and can easily load my final rise.

I have a WW and Final Rise, both are great vests! I never thought I would retire my WW vest, but after talking to Matt the owner of Final Rise and listening to him talk about his products you can tell he is a die hard bird hunter. The whole reason he started making the vests was because he wanted to improve upon the WW he and all his friends had. Yes he openly admitted to having one and said it was the best vest he had ever owned and he wanted to take that same type of design and make it better. I can honestly say he accomplished it! I love my Final Rise and how light it is. We have weighed both vests and the final rise is over 1.5lbs lighter than the WW. That may not seem like much but when your putting on the miles and walking tough cover it makes the day that much more enjoyable. The $$ for either vest is a small investment for something that will last you years!

👍👍Make a left two blocks after the gravel ends. You will have to go thru two gates and look for the hedgerows. At least three coveys.

Bit the bullet and just bought a Final Rise an hour ago. Can’t wait to get to use it.

Bro in law bought a Tenzing BV16???? Off of camofire for cheap last year. He liked it a lot compared to his old strap vest that had no waist belt to support a load.
