Fall Numbers

Northcentral Kansas seems extremely spotty with pheasants, quail looks alright. Probably going to be a below-average year again....happy hunting.
 
Some areas will be poor, some areas will be good. It is what it is. The only thing that I know for sure, is that there are birds out there, and I will be out there with the dogs hunting them.
 
I actually think the hatch did okay, it is the habitat that took a major hit. I have never seen this much hay cut out here. Pheasants will be concentrated where there is cover. If you can get permission you will do okay, but the WIHA that was CRP is an inch tall and seems like much of the WIHA came out and was leased up to deer hunters.
