My dads birthday is in a couple weeks and thinking about booking a bird hunt for him and his shorthair at one of the local hunt clubs along the front range. Anyone have recomendations? Thanks for the input!

Have a deposit on a lab pup due in April and figured now is a good time to brush up on my training skills. Have a couple of books in mind, 10 Minute Retriever and also Training The Pointing Labrador by Julie Knutson. Any others I might take a look at? Thanks for your input!

3 of us hunted last weekend and we got 3 birds. It was our 5 trip of the season and by far the slowest as far as action. Of course we should of had a couple more, I missed 3 that were right there. Just did not see the number of birds as in past trips. Still had a great time!
