Do you think it could be a hot trail that got out of hand and played out and coincidentally there were birds trapped between on the return? I have a hard time giving a dog credit for that move unless it’s the end of the field or break in the cover where they circle back and pinch…

This question gets so out of whack, the pointing dog guys (me included) get tied up on a number when it’s all about what terrain you are in that day. I hunted a sparse marginal property yesterday that called for seeing every square inch to create an opportunity, so run dog run and be steady...

I tried it and made no difference to me, grab close to skin and same direction it went in…then they flinch and break it off
