Public land hunt. Our group of 3 got out limit yesterday in SW MN. I may have taken 5 of those. Saw more that we couldn't get shots at. Started cold and wet, ended with nice weather. Cold this morning. Mid-30s and breezy.

They can't shoot quills, so sounds like AI. They flip their tail and the quills pull out of the porcupine, since there are barbs on the ends. Or a dog bits at them and gets a mouthful/faceful.

Man, the private land birds, that you didn't address, sure are a weird breed. Smart enough to stay out of the ditches, but dumb as rocks when hunted on their private home range.

Those roosters are responsible for a lot of shine on some heads (not that I would know anything about that).
