    Rain Dance

The big sioux river is all but gone. A little lake in the area actually is gone. Vanished.

Bird numbers are bouncing back in NE Nebraska. I just filled my second tag today there. Three came in, all 2nd year birds it appeared. Early afternoon. Birds were gobbling all around me walking out. Ill second what someone said about the Neb birds having small spurs. These Merriam/Eastern...

    Sweet gun on Gunbroker

A rare find for sale-Franchi 620 in the box with 26 inch barrel. No bids yet and $550 starting bid. Id buy it, but I already have one with a 24 inch barrel and it’s maybe my favorite gun Ive ever owned. I know Ive shot more birds with that than any other. They dont come up for sale often, I...

    Spring wild turkey

Shot one yesterday afternoon in Nebraska have a tough day of hunting and could have had another today but was calling for my buddy and elected to not take a gun because I didnt want to risk being done for the season. He had no shot and I had plenty of opportunities so glad I didnt carry one or...

Nothing wrong with calling a lot imo. Ive thought about shooting hens before just to shut them up. Hey woman, the internet says you call too much!

    Spring wild turkey

My Nebraska areas allow me to be on the move. Theyre 600 acres or so each, and my favorite has some high spots allowing glassing of neighboring areas. Love looking for strutters 3/4 mile away and getting them to cross two fences and a road to come get shot. Doesnt happen all the time but it’s...

    Spring wild turkey

No. I just mean i never liked hunting them first thing when theyre on the roost. I get a lot more enjoyment being on the move chasing mid-day active birds. My dad was always an up at 4 am guy, in his blind a half hour before any light kind of guy. Never cared for it

    Spring wild turkey

Almost exactly how we hunt. We will go out earlier but I bet ive shot 80 percent of my birds from 10-2. Not a fan of goin to try to find them henned up on a roost. Like to stay moving and mobile until i find a pumped up bird. 2 nebraska tags, season starts in the morning. 1 SD tag, ill get to...

    1330 fps

I just received several boxes I ordered to go with what I have. An additional 3 loads Ive never put on paper. Ill admit, Im not nearly as technical as many of the guys on here. I have 48 by 48 paper ill shoot at 40 yards. I then just look at it. Pass or fail. And I keep them to reference later...

I wasnt so curious about the cheaper shells being as good as the more expensive ones. I just have noticed that everyone seems to have a shell rated at 1330 fps 1 1/4 oz load of 12 gauge. Im not a reloader, but with all things identical on the box, im curious if they all follow virtually an...

    1330 fps

Seems like almost every manufacturer has a cheaper shell considered their “high brass” if you will. Seems like they probably all follow the same recipe. Has anyone bought a box of each brand and tested them against each other on paper?
