    Steel shot

    Does all public land in Iowa require steel shot or is it just land with marsh or waterfowl habitat?

    Cold Morning

    Started out hunting this morning with temperatures around -20 degrees windchill. Birds were very jumpy. Found most of our birds on tree lines and thick cattails. Saw over 100 pheasants but probably less then ten being roosters.

    What Gauge to Buy?

    I'm in the market for a new shotgun for pheasant hunting. I am unsure on what gauge I should get. I already own a Beretta 12 gauge but would like to try something new. Was wondering what other people shoot and what their preferred gauge is for upland hunting. Thanks.

    Shot 3 partridge yesterday after snowstorm. Pretty cool looking bird along with two pheasants.
