I’ve been looking at a map and I finally found freeman but there isn’t much public land around it. Are you guys getting west of James river where there are a dozen pockets of crep? Just south of mill town? I’ve hunted that before so I have a basic idea but it’s been a year or two.

Thank you for the advice on that large crep south of artesian. Last year if I’m correct that was mowed so wouldn’t have bothered to look at it this year. I’ve been looking at a map and have no clue where freeman is on the public hunting book.

Thank you for the suggestion to head east of Mitchell. Only took about 20 minutes to get a limit in 10 deg weather and windy. They held tight and didn’t want to fly. The first area I went to was a crep by farmer and saw lots of birds.

Just to clarify are you saying they released birds on purpose on public land or did it come from a lodge that released birds?

I have nothing to hide. Was just curious because I was there hunting and never saw it so figured they were up north around Huron or Aberdeen but I was wearing there.

Yesterday (Sunday) I saw 71 degs on the truck. I’d say at those temperatures a lot of corn will be coming out asap. Really interesting to hear that hand and Hyde only at 25% harvested.

I’m between chamberlain and Mitchell and I think it’s safe to say 75% plus of the corn out of the fields. Lots of combining last two days and see more cut corn fields than none cut fields.
