    Game warden question

Haven’t take the time to do a proper search of regulation's for MN. But in many states you can’t participate in hunting activities unless you have a license. For example you can’t drive deer to a posted hunter unless you have a license, whether you carry a gun or not. Same goes for calling a...

    TSS any good?

I’m going to throw out my 2 cents…. And it probably not worth the paper it’s printed on. TSS is awesome if you can afford it( and the possible dentist appointment if you miss it while cleaning). It will kill, at longer ranges than most can shoot. But I am tired of all the discussion of how far...

    Another Shot Size Thread

Hypothetically…. If you don’t tell them they won’t know…. They have just as good a chance with steel 1’s as with what ever bismuth you have.

    Out of Towner Questions

I say go! See what happens. I hunt in ND every year and hunt some plots and some private with no fee. We have found some great people that let us hunt for free. We meet them and small time diners or bars. We lost some ground last year as the owner sold out and retired. But went to the gas...

Is Bismuth Shot really more effective than Steel?

I after trying several sizes I ended up using #6 early season. I switch to #5 on windy days or late season. I hunt over a pointer so try and keep shots under 30 yds. But have made a few longer shots.

Is Bismuth Shot really more effective than Steel?

It depends….. I don’t like accidentally biting down on a steel pellet so I shoot bismuth. I also have been shooting a 28 gauge the last few years and in my opinion steel doesn’t cut it in a small bore. I have seen several posted studies that claim #2 steel is most effective on pheasants so...

    Which Barrel First For Over/Under

I agree with everyone so far, except I’m not sure I could reload the top barrel faster than the bottom barrel. Hunting over my pointing dog, i always shoot bottom barrel first. (It has the more open choke) but when shooting sporting clays, it depends on the station. But I always have the open...

    New rule regarding versatile

Every dog I’ve ever had was VERSITILE! Besides hunting partners. They have assisted in picking up women, been bed warmers ( when we didn’t score!) plate cleaners, good listeners and above all been there through thick and thin and been happy about it all!

Looking to add a gsp in the future

Top gun is a good one but they are not taking deposits at this time. The waiting list was two years when they stopped I think.

    Bringing Home a New PUP

I just brought a new male gsp puppy to home with a 5 yr old male terrier and a 6 yr old male gsp. All live in the house. I have had good luck introducing the puppy to the older dogs at a neutral location. We have a Small park a few blocks from the house and do first meeting there. I usually do...

    Heath Clearances?

I know of a couple. The most recent was a friend who purchased a female gsp puppy. Had it for almost two years and had her hips checked prior to breeding. They came back bad, withboth types of tests. He contacted the breeder and after some back and forth on the breeders test of the sire and dam...
