    How fast conditions change.

I agree. Spread out, it's very beneficial. I have received that much in 5 day's span (I'm in MN).

    SW minn flooding

I generally agree with nater's assessment. Use last year as an example here. Areas that received massive flooding had lower road side counts; whereas areas that received rain but NOT floods had greatly increased road side counts. Rain is good - it creates moisture and lush habitat and a...

    SW minn flooding

I got 3.5 inches Wed/Thursday. Most of that came on Wed. I was in the flash flood zone too, but that area appeared to be isolated to the Twin Cities region. More rain forecasted tonight, and more on Saturday night. These ones will be more isolated in nature. We need a week of dry weather...

A map showing the federally owned property that MAY go up for sale

It was revised to a slimmed down version. However, Montana Senator Steve Daines publicly relayed yesterday that he has enough votes to completely strip this provision from the bill.

    Montefeltro Likes/Dislikes?

I've got a first generation Monty. I've had it since 2006. I take meticulous care of it and its probably the only shotgun I'll used for the foreseeable future. It's probably a little heavier than the shotgun you're describing and I can tell you that it royally sucks putting any magnum 3 inch...

    SW minn flooding

Little worried about flooding this week in southern MN. Up to 4 inches of rain may fall between now and Friday morning. Not a great time to get it right after the hatch.

There's still time to lobby against it. It has not passed yet and the framework of it is still being developed.

A map showing the federally owned property that MAY go up for sale

None of the states listed affect me but I do not agree with this at all. It creates a slippery slope. That land should remain open to public recreation, not sold off to private developers. If you have a senator in any of these states, I would advise you get on the horn and make your opinion...

Start of Minnesota 2025-2026 season countdown

Same. 9 days in November is paltry compared to 2.5 months. Plus, I deer hunt so I'm already in my stand during that time frame lol

How many of you let birds go?

This is me too. Ours is only 2 daily though until Dec 1. Sometimes the hunt lasts half an hour.

    SW minn flooding

It's been a very active weather pattern this past week and another active day today. I've received 3 inches cumulative since last Wednesday. I'd be fine if it dried out for a few days...

How many of you let birds go?

I rarely hunt early in the season anymore because it's so hot these days but when I did, I could definitely tell a young rooster from a mature one. The younger ones didn't have full color. When I start hunting in November now, they all look the same to me on the wing. Obviously once you get...

    Optimistic!! (Link)

8 inches is a flood. That's not good. An inch or two at a time is fine. Not 8.

How many of you let birds go?

Not sure how'd you tell the difference in a second or two when it flushed unless it was lacking color. That's possible early in the season but by November they should all have mature color. You really should not even be shooting at a pheasant if there is doubt whether it's a rooster.
