You must get the upland report and maps of walkin from the Kansas Wildlife along with the state map divided into counties. By comparing the forecast with the walkin available and the posts on this site it will give you a pretty good idea of what is going on. I usually only hunt the SW corner but you must get west of a line from Salina going S. to Wichita. There have been several posts over the last week that indicate how people are doing etc. Most of the opening week crowds are through so the competition won't be so high. Many farmers will allow you to hunt if you stop and ask. Keep watching this site for more info.
