    Wet Crispi Boots

In my experience the Upland Pro's fit just like my Shimek's.. Honestly call their customer service.. When I did a real person answered immediately without any weird menu options. He was awesome and answered every question I had. My boots had some very minimal fraying on some of the stitching and...

    Injury Help

Have an appointment scheduled with the best person around.. vet out of Green Bay who breeds setters.. said he’s very confident he’ll find out exactly what’s wrong. He’s in Seattle right now but gave me his cell and we’ve been texting back and forth about the injury. Said it appears to be a...

    Injury Help

I’m in Oshkosh, I have an appointment at my normal vet for Wednesday.. but when I looked up Country Hills Dr. Thompson looks pretty great. I might see if they can get me in, we’re on strict couch arrest right now and only going outside on a leash. If he was let off the leash he’d sprint all...

    Injury Help

Went to two emergency vets in about 12 hours 3 weeks ago.. they essentially said nothing major appeared to be wrong. Give him some rest and reevaluate. He was sprinting around like a mad man retrieving ducks a couple days ago.. and then yesterday after about 90 minutes of pheasant hunting he...

    Injury Help

Long story short, Marty hurt his front right leg/shoulder and I’m wondering if anyone in Wisconsin has had a dog that needed surgery/rehab and where they might have gone? He was given two weeks of rest, seemed to be 100%, and then after a 90 minute hunt he was limping pretty bad once again...

    2025/2026 Pheasant Hunting Videos

I look forward to adding to this thread every year and watching everyone’s dogs progress. I can’t wait to see Nila turn into a retrieving machine by the end of the year. I do get a laugh out of hearing the frustration when she doesn’t, we’ve all been there (or at least I have with Larry), and...

    Probiotics

I use Purina FortiFlora throughout the year.. last year before one of our trips Marty stopped eating (because he gets so worked up when he sees me packing) and then had horrible diarrhea that looked like it had blood in it.. We almost cancelled our trip because it looked so bad, but the vet...

Start of South Dakota 2025-2026 season countdown

The fact that I won't be there until the 2nd week in November is killing me.. Hopefully there're 15 birds left when I get there.

    Wet Crispi Boots

I ended up purchasing the Crispi Upland Pros.. They feel very similar to my Shimek's, which were 10/10 last season. Extremely comfortable out of the box (with some Superfeet insoles) and waterproof of course. Can't wait to put a couple hundred miles on them. Then again, I live for the days where...

    Wet Crispi Boots

Looking for some Upland Pro reviews.. I brought the Crispi Shimek’s last year and they were the most comfortable boot I’ve ever worn when temps were right (above 50 my feet would sweat and feel damp). Looking to grab a pair of upland pros in hope they can be my boot of choice above 50...

    SD Crop Report?

It's about that time of year where I start checking the crop report... I have to imagine things are well ahead of the average, but when I went to the website I typically use it seems as though they stopped updating it.. below is the link I always go to Crop Report Wondering if anyone knows why...

North Central South Dakota, January 8th through January 12th, Pheasant Hunt Report

Yeah, we hit a tiny ditch, maybe 100 yards long next to some corn.. no fence on one side, single strand of barbed wire on the other, I guess I just thought the birds would fly the other way. Jumped a rooster and of course he flew straight towards the fence, I tried to shoot him quick before he...

    2024/2025 Pheasant Hunting Videos

Here's the last video of the 5 videos I just put up from my most recent trip out to SD, I can't compel myself to post a video in this thread every day lol, but if you want to see them, they're on my channel! We ended up shooting 15 birds over the 5 days, and considering how poor my shooting was...

North Central South Dakota, January 8th through January 12th, Pheasant Hunt Report

I hunted roughly the same area (probably a few hours south of you) from the 7th-11th. I ended up shooting my limit every day, but some days I worked really hard for it (25k steps 2 of the days..) It seemed like early in the trip the birds would not hold at all, they'd be getting up in bunches...
