    NDGF bird count

Have learned ND reports are a general standpoint are honest. Dry weather means no insects and young birds do not survive. Will still hunt but with low expectations. May do a more waterfowl hunting this fall.

An interesting conversation I had about ND and SD pheasants

Nope cannot make it across border - all being stopped and not allowed to cross without proper ID. :(:(:(:(:(

    Ladies man

How is that possible. Little bit heard was west of river very good. Remainder of state until corn harvested not much of a chance.

    Case for Benelli Montefeltro

20 guage Monti might be best pheasant gun ever. Light and durable. 3rd shell option has made the O/U take a back seat.

    20 gauge pheasant load 2 3/4 or 3"

Golden Pheasant 3" #5 with IC until mid December then switch to modified choke till end of the season. Drops birds like no other shot shell.

South Dakota Pheasant Counts Up 42% in 2015

2 miles west of town and 3 miles south. Pick just about any town, could be a good year!!

Anyone plan on hunting with Dakota Prairie Lodge this fall?

If understand correct, win a $500 prize and will cost you significantly more to use. Sorry but that is wrong!

    How did everyone do?

Sweet video, except ND requires plug in gun, only can have 3 shells in gun, at 1:40 mark shot 5 times. Might be a self incriminating video. Late season is upon us. Can be feast or famine. Just finished a hunt in ND and it was a FEAST. :):):):):):)

    Excellent, thanks for sharing!

Pheasant numbers generally are down, as season progresses and harvest moves along the number of birds huntable have improved. At least enough birds to keep hunter and dog interested. Need a new CRP program, without birds will not recover. ND has plenty of food needs nesting habitat.

Nice report, thanks. Hunt similar area (east of MO river west of 281). Waiting on second trip until harvest is further along. Walking tree lines and fence rows is one of my favorite methods - keeping dog close when gets hot on a bird is always a challenge.

Looking for a youth model 20ga

Yep get a good fit first. Heck I am 50 and use a 20 gauge because it is lighter and helps me shoot better. Can always resell gun for close to same price.

Not sure what conclusion to draw, other than birds appear to be down significantly. Yes lots of crops still standing. Discussed with other hunters and most if not all experienced tough hunting (few birds). Things could change in 2-3 weeks, if it would quit raining and crops are harvested.
