I agree, I don't know but you don't know about ours either yet you called ma a liar. If I misunderstood your post I apologize but seemed you think I exaggerated.
Not sure if you read my whole post or not but the limit was on pheasants not huns and sharptails. The spots we hunted even you could've possibly limited on them. On Wednesday we walked 16.2 miles and no limit on huns and sharpies but we did kill some of both. Sorry if my post made your hindend...
With as much public land as there is in SD I do not road hunt for this very reason. I never felt comfortable doing it and always feel like Im looking over my shoulder. Rules are grey as far as where the bird is at when the shot is fired and as long as I have a dog and healthy enough to follow...
Just got home from a four day trip. We hunt mainly around Dickenson and I'd say 95% at least of crops are out. We hunted almost all PLOTS and a little grasslands. Pheasants numbers were outstanding with limits everyday before 10am. The sharpies and huns on the other hand were a struggle for us...
Interesting post! After barely making it thru last season with foot pain was feeling pretty good this summer but ended breaking a few toes in July and the foot pain started all over again. VA gave me a couple sets of inserts and it has made a world of difference.
Good Stuff! I keep all the thighs but the legs with feet are frozen for dog treats. I've never aged the bird before but may try that. You left them up to four days?
Pretty normal opener for us. Got to our public spot about an hour and 1/2 early but 945 another truck pulled up 50 yards away and got ready to go😀. Not a big deal plenty of room for all. We walked about 100 yds in and turned around as was getting pretty crowded. One boy shot three by 1010...
I usually pour a shot of oral pro Pyrantel Pamoate from Amazon on their food the first of every month. I'm not an expert by any means on this but an old timer told me to do this and its cheap.
You probably should do once a month but just looking at their feces usually can see rice shaped worms if they have them in my experience. Eating anything dead and turkey or deer poop Id guess is how mine get it.
Just a note that a normal side cutter will not cut a typical snare, A cable cutter is needed or if you can hold the locking device you can typically push the cable backwards thru it to loosen it.
