    I have not done any hunt test or health tests on the parents. The mother is an excellent hunter and retrieves to hand most times. The Father has a good prey drive but I have not hunted with him.

    I am wanting to get a dog box for my truck, but I would like to know it anyone uses them in the warmer months or would I just cook the dog. I have seen some with sides that slide out, would they work?

    I live just south of Wichita so the majority of the time it would stay on solid roads. I was just thinking of how many times I truly have needed 4wd. I think the key it I went with 2wd is to insure I did not put myself in that situation.

    Training a non-traditional hunting dog

    When I was a kid we had an Australian Shepard that would bust the birds, but wouldn't retrieve anything. I think any dog would help as long as it listens to basic commands.

    My first lab hated water, but could find pheasants and quail just as any pointer. She would also retrieve birds that I thought were lost forever.
